Beth Sholom is a Conservative synagogue in Frederick, Maryland, founded in 1917.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.bethsholomfrederick.org/ )〕 In 1923, the synagogue was dedicated at the town's former Elks Club. Yehuda E. Perkins was the rabbi in 1959. In 1961, Morris Kosman became the congregation's spiritual leader.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.jewishtimes.com/index.php/jewishtimes/news/jt/local_news/kosman_retiring_from_frederick_shul/16249 )〕 In 1994, the congregation moved into a new building on North Market St. There are presently 4 Jewish congregations in the Frederick area, the others being a Chabad synagogue, a Reform synagogue and another in nearby Damascus. ==Spiritual leaders==
Rabbi Morris Kosman, a Detroit native who served the as the congregation's spiritual leader since 1961, retired and assume emeritus status in 2010. At that time, Rabbi Murray Singerman became the congregation's new spiritual leader. After a year and a half, Rabbi Singerman resigned, and Beth Sholom is now being served by a visiting rabbi from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York under the Gladstein Fellowship program.〔
